The demon had just finished whispering something obscene in the cheerleader’s ear as he watched Addy and Cole enter the bus for the ride back to school. It had been agony for him to be in the cheerleader’s presence for the majority of the day, but a necessary evil. He hadn’t been able to pass up the opportunity to ensure that Cole and Addy spend the day together, and more importantly, alone.

“Hey, Cole, back here,” yelled one of the jocks from the back of the bus. Cole scowled but made his way to his seat.

Addy herself was being hounded by one of her teammates to sit with her on the bus. But before Addy could ignore her, something she clearly was intending to do, her teammate grabbed her by the arm and forced her to sit next to her. Her friend was obviously excited about something and wanted someone to listen to whatever she had to say. Cole looked back at Addy, clearly disappointed that he would have to be separated from her. Ryan watched the scene unfold. He knew that victory was almost his as he witnessed how difficult it was for the two pathetic souls to part, even temporarily.
